A Legacy of Excellence: Christopher Homes and Seneca Earn National Recognition at the 2024 BALA Awards
We are thrilled to share that SkyVu by Christopher Homes and our luxury for lease division, Seneca have been honored with prestigious awards at the 2024 BALA Awards. Presented by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), The Best in American Living™ Awards celebrates innovation, forward-thinking design, and excellence in residential living and we are thrilled to be among the winners.
This recognition is especially meaningful, not only as a company, but as part of our family legacy. With both Christopher Homes and Seneca receiving national recognition in the same year, it’s an extraordinary honor for two generations of builders to be celebrated for excellence in community design. The moment also carries special significance as it continues a legacy started by Chris Stuhmer’s late father, Jack Stuhmer, who built homes in Las Vegas in the 1960s. With three generations dedicated to shaping the future of residential living, this recognition is a true milestone.
Seneca at Southern Highlands: Gold Award for Best Single-Family Community for Lease
Seneca at Southern Highlands, our luxury for lease community, received the Gold Award for Best Single-Family Community for lease—an extraordinary milestone for Christopher Homes’ newest division. Launched in 2024, Seneca represents a new era of elevated, maintenance-free living. Our gated enclave of 50 single-family homes combines cutting-edge design with sustainable technology, including Tesla solar panels to promote near net zero emissions. Thoughtful amenities like a resort-style pool/spa, cedar barrel sauna, community garden, and dog park elevate daily living for residents who desire luxury without compromise.
Under the direction of Michael Stuhmer, Seneca has redefined what it means to lease, offering a new way to live.
Yet as more people move to Las Vegas with their pets, the city is evolving. Neighborhoods are becoming more inclusive, and renters are prioritizing spaces designed to support a balanced lifestyle for both humans and pets.
A New Era of Pet-Friendly Living in Las Vegas
Over the last few years, Las Vegas has become increasingly pet-friendly, with more dog parks, pet-focused stores, and restaurants welcoming four-legged guests on their patios. Even weekend farmers markets often feature local pet vendors and adoption pop-ups. The city’s abundance of outdoor spaces – from Red Rock Canyon and Mount Charleston to neighborhood parks – makes it easy to enjoy an active lifestyle with your pet.
For renters, communities are also taking notice, adding walking paths, pet stations, and fenced yards to make everyday living easier. Still, not every “pet-friendly” community is created equal. For many residents, the challenge lies in finding a home that genuinely embraces pets, not just tolerates them.
